Family Information for Reuben Arnold and Margaret HudsonContributed by Newman Arnold Hall Reuben Arnold accompanied his parents to one of the Carolinas prior to the Revolution. He returned and settled in Culpeper Co., Virginia where he married. By profession he was a blacksmith as were both of his sons, David and Isaac. He received land from his father-in-law, David Hudson, in 1782, which he sold in 1787 and moved to Kentucky. He purchased his homestead on Boone's Mill Creek a few miles northwest of Lancaster in Garrard Co. in 1789, where he died at a relatively early age. His widow, Peggy, continued to lived there with her son, Isaac, until she died some forty years later. Only the descendants of Isaac remained in Garrard County. David settled in Jessamine and in due course some of his descendants returned to Garrard. Both Reuben and Peggy were buried near the Lancaster Pike on their home place.
