Land Deed - John T. Arnold to Benjamin ArnoldMarch 15, 1867 Source: Franklin County, Kentucky, Deed Book 9, p. 160-161 This indenture, made this 15th day of March 1867 between John T. Arnold of the County of Franklin and State of Kentucky of the first part, and Benjamin Arnold of the County and State aforesaid of the second part. Witnesseth: That for and in consideration of the sum of the sum of one hundred and thirty dollars in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, the party of the party of the first part, doth bargain, sell, convey, release & grant unto the party of the second part & his heirs and assigns, all his interest, right and title in & ______ the houses & lots in Bloomington in the County aforesaid. It being the one undivided fifth part of which Simeon Arnold decd the father of said Ben Arnold died seized off & which the said John T. inherited from his said father. Together with the rights, privileges and appurtenances thereunto belonging. To have and to hold the property hereby conveyed to the party of the second part and his heirs and assigns forever. And the said party of the first part covenants that he will warrant and defend the property hereby conveyed. In testimony whereof the party of the first part hereunto set his hand & seal the day & year first above written and Nancy Arnold wife of the said John T. Arnold hereto forms in this deed & relinquishes her dower. Attest A. H. Rennick John T. Arnold Commonwealth of Kentucky Franklin County I, Alexander H. Rennick, Clerk of the County Court for the County aforesaid do certify that according to act of Congress and acknowledged by John T. Arnold the grantor to be his act & deed and ordered to be recorded. Whereupon the said deed and this certificate have been truly recorded in my office.
