Land Deed - Benjamin S. Arnold to James B. MarshallMarch 20, 1874 Source: Franklin County, Kentucky, Deed Book 13, p. 258 This indenture, made this 20th day of March, one thousand eight hundred and seventy four, between Benjamin S. Arnold of the County of Franklin and State of Kentucky of the first part, and James B. Marshall of the County and State aforesaid of the second part, witnesseth: That for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars in hand paid, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, the party of the first part doth grant, bargain, sell, alien, release and convey unto the party of the second part and his heirs and assigns, all that real estate situate and lying in Franklin County Kentucky which was conveyed by Ben Arnold to Ben S. Arnold by deed dated April 3 1867 and recorded in Deed Book No 9, page 173 of Franklin County Court, which property is described in said deed as follows, to wit: "All his (said Ben Arnold's) interest in the Town of Bloomington in Franklin County Kentucky, it being two fifths thereof, one fifth of which he inherited from his father, Simeon Arnold decd, and the other by purchase from his brother, John T. Arnold." Together with the rights, privileges and appurtenances thereunto belonging. To have and to hold the property hereby conveyed to the party of the second part and his heirs and assigns forever. And the said party of the first part covenants that he will warrant and defend the title to the property hereby conveyed to said party of the second part against the lawful claims of all persons whatever. In testimony whereof the party of the first part hereunto sets his hand and seal the day and year first above written. B. S. Arnold Commonwealth of Kentucky Franklin County I, James G. Crockett, Clerk of the County Court of the County aforesaid, do certify that this deed from Ben. S. Arnold to James B. Marshall was on the 20th day of March 1874, produced to me in my office and acknowledged by the said Arnold to be his act and deed; whereupon said deed and this certificate have been truly admitted to record in my office.
