Land Deed - William G. Harvie and Caroline Harvie to Benjamin S. ArnoldSeptember 25, 1838 Source: Franklin County, Kentucky, Deed Book ?, p. 210-211 This indenture, made the 25th day of Septr. In the year of our Lord 1838, between William G. Harvie and Caroline Harvie his wife, of the County of Franklin and State of Kentucky of the one part, and Benjamin S. Arnold of the County Franklin & State aforesaid of the other part, witnesseth: That the said William G. Harvie & Caroline his wife, for and in consideration of the sum of six hundred dollars in hand the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained, and sold and by these presents doth grant, bargain and sell unto the said Benjamin S. Arnold, his heirs and assigns, forever, all that tract of land below the mouth of Elkhorn and on the Kentucky river, it being the same tract of land whereof William E. Quarles lived & died on, and supposed to contain four hundred acres, and which was divided by Tunstall Quarles to William E. Quarles & his wife during their natural lifetime and then to descend to the heirs of William E. Quarles, and the said William G. Harvie holding by purchase the share of William Quarles and with his wife's share making the above two shares. Together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging, or in any wise appertaining. To have and to hold the land hereby conveyed with the appurtenances, unto the said Benjamin S. Arnold, his heirs and assigns, forever. And the said William G. Harvie & Caroline his wife for themselves, their heirs, executors, and administrators, the aforesaid tract of land and appurtenances, unto the said Benjamin S. Arnold, his heirs or assigns, against the claim or claims of all and every person or persons whatsoever doth and will forever warrant and defend, by these presents. In witness whereof, the said William G. Harvie and Caroline Harvie his wife have hereunto set their hands & seal, the day & date first above written. Will G. Harvie Acknowledged in presence of Whereupon the said deed together with this certificate is truly recorded in my office. Given under my hand as clerk as aforesaid the date above written. A. H.
