Land Deed - Benjamin Arnold to Benjamin S. ArnoldOctober 28, 1867 Source: Franklin County, Kentucky, Deed Book 9, p. 301-302 This indenture, made this 28th day of October 1867, between Benjamin Arnold (being a grandson of John Burchfield) of the County of Franklin and State of Kentucky of the first part, and Benjamin S. Arnold of the County and State aforesaid of the second part, witnesseth: That for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, the parties of the first part do bargain, sell, convey, release and grant unto the party of the second part & his heirs and assigns, one fifth of one ninth in a certain tract of land of land lying and being in the County of Franklin and bounded by the lands of H. W. Innes, John F. Church, Cornelius Fenwick ______ and Main Elkhorn and known as the John Burchfield farm. Together with the rights, privileges and appurtenances thereunto belonging. To have & to hold the property hereby conveyed to the party of the second part and his heirs and assigns forever. And the said party of the first part covenants that he will warrant generally the property hereby conveyed. In witness whereof, the party of the first part hereto set his hand and seal the day and year above written. Attest A. H. Rennick Benjn Arnold State of Kentucky I, Alexander H. Rennick, Clerk of the County Court for the County of Franklin, do certify that the foregoing deed from Ben Arnold to Ben S. Arnold was produced to me in my office on the 28th day of Octr 1867 with a fifty cent United States revenue stamp attached thereon, and was acknowledged by Ben Arnold to be his act and deed and the same with this certificate, have been truly recorded in my office.
